Global Nominees
We wish our global nominees the best of luck!
Space Apps Challenge – Ruse is organized for a second year in the city of Ruse, Bulgaria.
Its primary goals are:
- to motivate people to love science and technology and to encourage them to work in that domain;
- to give the contesters the opportunity to propose new and interesting ideas, small-scale prototypes, software products and others that could potentially improve the life on Earth or contribute to the exploration of space.
The event is organized through partnership among the University of Ruse, Bulgarian science community, business organizations, NGOs and students volunteers. We tightly collaborate with all other Space Apps organizers in Bulgaria. The hackathon is also supported by the US Embassy in Bulgaria, Ministry of Education and Science, National Digital Coalition and the Space Challenge Program.
The host organization, the University of Ruse, is an educational and research center, training specialists in a wide range of engineering, economic and humanitarian degree programmes, and conducting fundamental and applied research. Today, over 9 000 students and 150 PhD students are studying at the University of Ruse, whose structure comprises of eight faculties (four engineering and four humanitarian) and 3 branches in other towns in Bulgaria – Silistra, Razgrad and Vidin.
