Space Apps Challenge 2018

FireHero is built on a real time network called MeteorJs with a react frontend * Mongo database. The prototype is available on www.FireHero.app .

We created FireHero to address the Fire challenge to help engage the public by creating a web application that allows for the average Joe with a cell phone & camera to quickly report and document an unwanted fire. Our passion is to drive engagement of the public and leverage the wide-availability of cellphones to contribute useful information that can inform First Responders and nearby citizens.

The web app is focused on recording and submitting critical information such as the email of the contributor, picture of the fire, location of the fire. Additional information such as perceived scale of the fire, smell, & terrain descriptions are also recorded. This kind of information is then submitted and then organized by location. First Responders & citizens in the nearby location is then automatically notified & informed of the crowdfunded information about the fire.
