For more details please visit the following previous challenges: -

  • What is the minimum age for participants?

Space Apps welcomes participants of all ages. There is not any age limit for participation in Space Apps, and many youth and children have participated in last year events. If participant is under 13 parents or guardian must accompany him and must attend the entire event with minor participant.

  • Can I start working on the challenges as soon as they are published?

We appreciate the enthusiasm of participants who want to start as early as possible, but we ask that participants start the actual work at the hackathon itself. The 48-hour hackathon is designed to inspire innovative ideas and develop solutions in a collaborative, team environment, and participants are not expected to have a fully developed project at the end.

  • Is the registration individual or by team?

Participants need to register on 2018.spaceappschallenge.org as individuals, not as teams.

  • How/When do I form a team?

If you have a team you can come with your team. If not, you can build your team at event venue on 19th or 20th October 2018. There is a team-building method which will help you to build your team to complete your project.

  • How many members could a team have?

The sweet spot for teams is typically 4 to 5 people. If a team gets too big, it can be difficult for the team to focus; if it is too small, the team may not have all the skills/knowledge needed to solve a challenge. However, the maximum number of members in a team can be up-to 6 and no any minimum margin.

  • Will I be provided accommodation for night stay or I have to manage myself for accommodation?

As this is 48 hours Hackathon there is no need of accommodation for night because mostly students prefer to stay at workplace for completing their projects and have rest there itself. However, if you need separate accommodation, it will be available 'FREE' . For that you just need to request for accommodation during form filling. You will be provided free accommodation only not FOOD.
