We worked on a small interactive app to help people learn something about the earth. In our app "look at earth" people can chose a set of map data, such as ground temperature, to display on a rendering of earth and then move through time to see how the data evolves. It also displays in the same time linear data such as average CO2 amount in the atmosphere to put in relation with the displayed map.
To help people understand what they are looking at, they first go through a small quizz about the data they chose to view which will help them better understand how the system works.
The app currently has two map data sets downloaded directly from Nasa (ground temperature and forest coverage) and it would be possible to have it refresh it's data when it is launched and to use more map data to be dispalyed.
The prototype of the app can be tried online directly at this address: https://alexisgea.itch.io/look-at-earth
We hope you will enjoin it!
