Carbonocracy
What's your share in the carbon emissions? We're developing an app to inform and show carbon emission for each one of us, in order to help us reduce our impact on Earth.
We are Carbonocracy. A multidisciplinary team, with 6 integrant elements:
- Armindo, a professional skipper;
- Bruno, a aerospace engineering student;
- Eduardo, a network management and instalation student;
- Joshua, an IT student;
- Patrícia, a veterinary student
- Rui, a molecular biologist.
We came to the event individually, and met only on site.
Armindo’s circumnavigation journey with minimal resources inspired us to create an app to rate our personal carbon footprints and evaluate our impact on this world. Given the emergency of climate action to prevent further agravation of Global Warming, we believe that educating our community about their personal impact on climate events and suggesting a friendly competition between users could unravel some eco consciousness. We also provide friendly advice on how to improve the users’ scores and have a smaller global impact, based on multiple NASA information and other sources.
Future development of the project will be focused on the app’s functionality as well as adaptability to different target audiences. We believe that with the proper amount of time and resources we can provide a fully functional app with a greater accuracy.
