The Brazilian newspaper O Globo on 12/18/2017 presented data from the National Institute of Space Research (INPE) that pointed to the occurrence of 272 thousand fires in Brazil in 2017, 46% more than in 2016.
Such events have been identified using satellites, however this method has limitations, especially in regions of very dense vegetation such as tropical forests, which is confirmed by NASA in its FIRMS FAQ section, which states that the outbreaks are generally very small and the treetops obstruct the sight of the fire, making detection at the outset very unlikely, which could prevent the evolution of a minor event into a major catastrophe.
The project is a forest fires identifier that drives the data network in real time using GSM and IoT technology with data about air humidity, temperature and carbon dioxide concentration.
The community will be warned by SMS messages with the geolocation coordinates of the possible fire, targeting the application for instructions on how to act in case fire, preventing people from being harmed by taking hasty actions that endanger their lives .
In this way, we optimize the work of monitoring and preventing catastrophes caused by forest fires, reducing environmental damage, avoiding loss of life and allowing quick action by brigadiers.
