The Challenge | On the Shoulders of Giants
“Save Hubble” is a collaborative game trying to explore the stunning imagery, the stories and science behind them and bring the spirit of team work that helped to create and operate for almost 30 years, mankind’s greatest science instrument.
Hubble is the key that has unlocked some of the greatest mysteries of the universe.
From the time of its inception, initial deployment,support and science missions, Hubble created a lasting legacy of science discoveries and technological innovation based on the work and collaboration of countless teams, that were in many cases tasked with very difficult problems and insurmountable obstacles.
Our game called “Save Hubble” is a collaborative game trying to explore the stunning imagery, the stories and science behind them and bring the spirit of team work that helped to create and operate for almost 30 years, mankind’s greatest science instrument.
It is a mixture of a traditional board game and an Augmented Reality (AR) application with the goal to make the players look at the marvels of the universe by “standing at the shoulders of giants”
Player’s have to complete a science mission at specified time by performing tasks and answering questions that will give them a deeper insight on Hubble and it’s mission and the people behind it.
Our team met at HackerSpace in Athens,Greece and in 2 days come up with the concept and a prototype.
