Space Apps Challenge 2018

Redwares - Breach Watch

We are the Redwares, a group of Italian students who designed a spaceship integrated system to detect MMOD damage.

As you know, micro-meteorites can provoke serious damage to the spaceships when colliding with them, such as big holes on their surface.

Breach Watch is our solution, a real-time alarm for the future DeepSpaceGateway.

Thanks to our solution the spaceship will be fully covered by panels made by a dielectric between two conductive plates so when an impact occurs you will be able to detect the exact collision point.

Breach Watch will keep astronauts in spaceships more protected than ever before, increasing the quality of life.

Our Team won the late Hackathon event in Vicenza, Italy.

We’ve already started working to improve our project that can become real if you want.
