NextGAR (Next Generation Augmented Reality) is a medication recognition system. It aims at enabling a wide range of augmented reality (AR) applications, which serve to enrich elderly and sick people’s lives and provide more insight in making decisions. NextGAR develops a software application that provides the user with augmented capabilities to make a particular decision, e.g., pharmacists and sick people can learn about the type of medications within their vision sight and, at the same time, receive healthcare related instructions, i.e., drugs dosage, drugs side effects, drugs due time, etc. NextGAR creates a device-agnostic software which acquires and transfers still images of medications, analyses them at the central processing unit, and conveys useful instructions to the user.
