The Challenge | Health Makes Wealth

Integrate NASA Earth science data and citizen science data to learn more about the connections between human, animal, and environmental health.

Adiona

Adiona is a help tool for explorers and travelers to explore their destination environment, climate and seasonal / infectious diseases.

*Adiona*

Adiona is in Roman mythology, referred to as the Goddess of Safe Return. Along with Abeona, these two travel deities watch over travelers.

Project Description and features:

Adiona is explorers and travelers’ app in a different perspective
the user selects his destination and when exactly he will visit it
and our app will give him all the information he needs regarding his health and safety for his destination.

Like:

  • What are the seasonal/infectious diseases out there and the vaccines you going to need.
  • Maybe a type of poisonous plant you need to avoid.
  • Give list of regions to avoid.
  • Where an infection could spread, a hurricane is going to strike.
  • Our app can also provide suggestions for a safe nearby haven if you need one.

Also if the user managed to travel to his destination and noticed any extra information he can drop a marker on the map and leave his warning message and other people can see it when they select the same destination.

Project components:

Data extraction from different resource,Data analysis and recommendation visualized on web app and crowed sourcing.

we extracted data from different resources, and applied time series analysis on how many people got infected with a specific disease (Lyme , malaria, west Nile virus ...) every weak , on data from 2014 to 2017.

Our app predicts what are the seasonal/infectious diseases out there during the user stay and suggests the suitable vaccines.

Future work:

Right now we applied our analysis on data extracted from California state, we will include other most visited destinations.

we will enhance our analytics component and add more analytics results from both Nasa data and crowd sourcing.
