The Challenge | Don’t Forget the Can Opener!

Create an easy-to-use way for people to develop their own, custom checklists – both items and plans – for specific kinds of disasters. Use NASA images, videos, or data visualizations to illustrate each disaster type, to help people understand how to prepare.

paratus - Be aware. Be ready.

To create a centralized and organized media platform that aims to spread awareness and alerts to people on what to do before, during and after the natural disasters.

Our team built a mobile app that notifies the user when a nearby natural disaster is happening, and gives a guide on how to prepare for them. We also built a wearable mini-tracking device that acts as a LED indicator if there's a natural disaster happening nearby. Also, it can be retrieved with S.O.S. data in terms of location.

We had a difficult time because we are not quite familiar about the appropriate programming language for the mobile app. Also, we were not quite informed about the acquisition of required materials so we also had technical difficulties.

The program used for the wearable device is Arduino on Arduino Uno module. The wireframe for the app is made in Adobe XD.
