The Challenge | Don’t Forget the Can Opener!

Create an easy-to-use way for people to develop their own, custom checklists – both items and plans – for specific kinds of disasters. Use NASA images, videos, or data visualizations to illustrate each disaster type, to help people understand how to prepare.

DisasterReady

We aim to inform people about natural disasters all around the globe and give them solutions to facing them.

DisasterReady

We have build a web app that can help people:

-learn about natural disasters based on area

-request help in case they are a victim of such an event

-send help through donations to those in need

Our platform is accompanied by a device that has a gsm and gps module that can help people signal if they need help in extreme cases.

By sending a signal with the device, we get the request, store it into our database and inform users that would help.

Also beside helping people in extreme situations we aim to provide a clear guideline about preparing for natural disasters. People don't really give so much attention to things like survival kits and supplies and we think that is a really big problem.

We hope that our project will raise awarness and a provide people with an easy to use platform for getting/sending help.
