Firewatch is an app that allows us to send quick alerts to the public near the area and the local authorities about wildfires so actions can be taken to prevent the growth and propagation of these fires. It's also designed for people to give live comments about the situation and define shelters for the people.
We think that wildfires can't be predicted or prevented with certainty although they CAN be detected in their early stages so we decided to design the application with this functionality, so we can reduce the loss of wildlife, human life and infrastructure damage.
The app incentivizes public unification through tools that facilitates collaboration between communities in those moments of crisis, either using the alarm or with the establishment of the shelters or even with the live comments to keep everyone informed.
A panic button displayed at the center of the screen, when the user can use when he or she spots a fire. When pressed it will send user's live location to local authorities and to users in a radio of 2km.
A section where users share live information and inform about the situation.
Here, users that meet certain parameters, can offer infrastructures and buildings as shelter for the people that are displaced because of the fire.
Provides. contact information about the local authorities like Fire Department, Police Department and 911.
Whe strongly believe that the best way to prevent wildfire is through users sharing information, building a comunity, creating a fast an easy way to catch fires in their early stages and prevent losses.
