Build a crowdsourcing tool for citizens to contribute to early detection, verification, tracking, visualization, and notification of wildfires.
W.A.R.S. (Wildfire Alerting and Reporting System)
Web application to help early detection of wildfire with support from community (crowdsourcing) and integration with regional alerting systems in order to help citizens find their way out to a safe place in case of evacuation
-Regional dispatchers are notified of citizens wildfire reports and can decide to use alerting systems much earlier;
-The system can recommend nearest safe locations, based on fire spread predictions, mostly by cross-referencing wind direction and speed in the area (Open Weather Map);
-Drones and helicopters can be sent to the fire area to provide aerial feed in real time;
-If a citizen is not in immediate danger, he can choose to volunteer for helping other citizens in his vicinity with mobility problems;
