1.Topic: "Spot that fire!"

2.Problem:

The problem of natural disasters and espessialy wildfires is really relevant nowadays. And it can be difficult to track wildfires and forecast their further spread. That is why we decided to create a platform, which can help to take attention of society to this problem.

3.Relevance:

• It is unique;
• Provides visual and reliable information;
• It uses GIS and other modern technologies;
• It allows to analyze and predict variants of development disasters.
• Opportunity to compare damaged area before/after wildfire;

4.Target audience:

• Mass media;
• GIS scientists;
• Government;
• Ordinary users.

5.Opportunities:

• providing of satellite images and reliable information;
• authomatic updating of data;
• comparison images of damaged areas before/after wildfire;
• tracking wildfires and forecasting of their further spread.

6.Applications and technologies, which we use:

• Back-end: Python, Django REST framework, Gdal
• Front-end: Typescript, Angular 2+ framework, Mapbox GL, Semantic UI framework, Eos public API
• Hosting: Heroku, Gitlab

7.What will the prodgect change:

• Aggregation, validation, visualization, approbation of data about natural disasters.
• You will get the platform, which provides: analytics about natural disasters, independent expertise

8.Future plans:

• Expand the area of user` s interests and amount of resources with satellite data.
• User` s notification.
• Opportunity to track the recovery of damaged areas.
• Society reaction onto such event
