Tornado North

A concise guide for Canadians on how to recognize the signs of a tornado, improve safety by taking action and build a checklist for tasks and supplies

Tornado North

On September 23rd, 2018 a total of 6 tornadoes hit portions of the capital of Canada, Ottawa, across the river in Gatineau, Quebec and to the North in Calabogie, Ontario.

Tornadoes in the Eastern portion of the province of Ontario are rare so most citizens did not take notice of the tornado watches and warnings that day.

Many people in the region went about their day oblivious to the severe weather right over their heads.

Over the next 3 days it was apparent that much of Ottawa and Gatineau were not prepared for the power outages that followed.

The objective of Tornado North is to provide a concise guide for Canadians on how to recognize the signs of a tornado, improve safety by taking action and build a checklist for tasks and supplies
