The Challenge | Don’t Forget the Can Opener!

Create an easy-to-use way for people to develop their own, custom checklists – both items and plans – for specific kinds of disasters. Use NASA images, videos, or data visualizations to illustrate each disaster type, to help people understand how to prepare.

Disasters Tracker

Our app will provide people with visual and text information to ensure that they deal in a right way with natural disasters and are in a safe shelter with the needed supplies.

Disasters Makers

Our application (disasters tracker) is easy to use and available to all people around the world to provide them with information about natural disasters that has happen in their country, dangers the disaster results in, the supplies they will need to keep alive. This version of the app is about United States because of variety of natural disasters in it that will help other people in the world to deal with this different kinds of disasters even they are Americans. The app works offline to provide people in danger with safe tips and information that will save their souls in different kinds of disasters .The app will use icons , maps and images in order to make people genuinely understand what they are preparing for and what order to do things in even if they cannot understand English. This application will save almost 68,000 lives on average each year and protect 4.1 billion who are left injured or homeless around the world since 1995. Another result for the natural disasters is lifting behind trillions of dollars in damages) and the app can reduce this by providing information about safe areas to construct buildings as building in flood plains, earthquakes zones and other high-risk areas has increased the likelihood that a routine natural hazard will become a major catastrophe and cost much more money and lives.

We have done our work even if the great challenges we faced. we are from different governorates so takes longer time to meet together which decreases the time available for us to solve the challenge but we overcome this and decrease the hours we slept to save time the other challenge was with our laptops they stop working a lot during coding but we overcome this by making it more simple to decrease the time needed in coding and we hope to overcome these problems during the next version which will be about the whole world disasters.
