The future application "WATCH OUT":
"Watch out" will help you plan to avoid disaster without forgetting anything. We have been careful to make sure you are easy to use, it will provide "Watch out" categorize disasters and plan for your virtual bag which will depend on your needs for each disaster. It shows the latest disasters that occurred last week near your location. When the time of disaster coming it will make forgetting happen. By using "watch out" you will not be forgotten when a disaster occurs!
The app starts on a homepage with 3 buttons (map, disaster info, emergency kit list) and a shortcut to a settings page. It is recommended for the user to first visit the disaster informational page, indicated through a house seeping through the cracks, which then showcases all the disasters supported by the app. The user either picks to see more details on the disaster which takes them to a page with an image of the disaster and a small excerpt explaining it as well as a couple of signs to help them tie what they’re experiencing to what they’re reading. The other option is for the user to pick the disaster through the proceed button which configures the app based on the choice (the default item list drops in the emergency kit section as well as the title changes on the home screen). The emergency kit section has a default kit put together by the team through research but the list is customizable to fit the user’s needs. The section also has a weight calculator which is incremented every time a list item is checked and adds up the weight of said item. If the items weight exceeds 20% of the user’s inputted weight (inputted through the app settings) then the app warns of the kit being overweight.
The final section is the map. Developed through google maps APIs it through cellular data as the app is wifi-independent. Which will review the latest disasters near your location that occurred last week. Disaster data will be updated weekly to provide the user with all the disasters that are likely to recur or occur! The settings house the weight inputting section and choosing a primary weight for the app to calculate the kit weight for and an about section detailing more about the app and the team. The application may be developed in the future to connect it in the satellite where it will predict disasters before the occurrence and save the last location of the user to track the signal and ensure its safety.
