Create and deploy web apps that will enable anyone to explore Earth from orbit! Visualize Earth science satellites and mission data using interactive virtual globes, such as NASA’s Web WorldWind. Use data sets from NASA’s Open Data Portal to present fire, ice, clouds, meteorites, or water temperature spectra.

GNSS-VIS

GNSS-VIS is an educational and troubleshooting app for Android based GNSS systems.

Our goal for this project was to create an application to provide insight into the GNSS constellation performance for an Android user. Potential beneficiaries of this application are: people trying to troubleshoot their GNSS applications (software developers, etc), people trying to learn more about GNSS technology, and teachers trying to demonstrate the principles of localization to students.

To this end, we’ve created an application which uses the internet to compare known satellite positions to those measured by the GNSS receiver on the Android system. In this way, the system compares the received values to make judgements about the expected and actual state of the GNSS for the user.
