There is one big problem in space missions: no Amazon prime. Every day our best astronaut drinks coffee in his favourite mug. During a hard landing on mars his mug broke but he couldn't ask for a new one, so he refused to continue the mission. Keep calm! With self-healing materials he can fix it and much more. As far as nature is able to repair itself, even particular polymers do. As a consequence, we would like to introduce this tecnology in space missions to improve the life-cicle of tools and structures to avoid them being damaged.
